About NineMind Bodywork

A practice built on understanding, not just technique.

NineMind exists because most chronic tension doesn't resolve with more force, it resolves with more intelligence.

Founder, NineMind Bodywork

After more than two decades working in high-pressure environments, and years navigating my own injuries, rehabilitation, and personal transformation through movement and body awareness, I became deeply curious about the relationship between physical tension, behavior patterns, stress, and nervous system regulation.

A significant part of that comes from a life in competitive athletics. I've spent most of my life racing, training in martial arts, and chasing extreme sports, ocean and mountain pursuits, the kind of movement that asks everything of you. That constant drive to explore the edges of what the body can do has shaped how I understand myself and how I engage with the world. I'm still doing it. Still pushing into that terrain as I age, and that ongoing experience is inseparable from how I approach this work.

That curiosity led me to study, explore, and integrate different approaches to bodywork, movement, and awareness. What I kept finding was that the most durable changes, the ones that actually stuck, came when people understood what their body was doing and why, not just when something was done to them.

NineMind Bodywork is the result of that journey, a synthesis of everything I've learned and experienced, offered in service of your process. The work is collaborative by design. I bring the observation, the contact, and the framework. You bring your attention, your history, and your honest feedback. Both matter.

My belief is that lasting change doesn't come from what I do to your body, it comes from what you learn to recognize within yourself. The hands-on work creates the conditions. Awareness does the rest.

The Name

Why NineMind?

The octopus has nine brains, a central brain and one in each of its eight arms. Each arm can sense, respond, and problem-solve semi-independently. The whole organism is intelligent, distributed, and adaptive.

Your nervous system works similarly. Intelligence isn't only in your head. It's in your fascia, your gut, your postural reflexes, your breath. NineMind is a nod to that distributed intelligence and an invitation to work with it rather than override it.

How I Work

Guiding principles of the practice

1

The body has a logic

Tension patterns aren't random. They make sense given your history, habits, and nervous system. Understanding that logic is the first step toward changing it.

2

Awareness precedes change

You can't release what you can't feel. A significant part of the work is developing the capacity to sense more finely, before, during, and after contact.

3

Collaboration over correction

I'm not here to fix your posture or override your nervous system. I'm here to create conditions where your body can reorganize toward greater ease, on its own terms.

4

The nervous system learns

Chronic patterns aren't permanent. The same adaptability that created them can create something new. Sessions work with, not against, that capacity for change.

5

Slow is often fast

Deep change in the nervous system rarely happens through force or speed. Precision, patience, and presence tend to get further than aggressive intervention.

Ready to Begin?

The first session is two hours for a reason.

We take time to talk, move, and work before drawing any conclusions. There's no rush. The relationship matters as much as the technique.
